Dumb Cooking : Stir Fry Pea Sprouts With Fishballs & Sardine With Cherry Tomatoes

Tak de mood nak mengarang panjang-panjang.......picture tale je laa ye......lagi pun post masak....mende nye nak tulis panjang-panjang.



Ni Lemak Ayam yang I bekukan masa my girlfriends datang rumah for lunch weeks back! MP tengok kat dalam freezer & dia suruh buang but I tak nak. Told him boleh makan lagi. Well , truth is.......we've been eating frozen food all our life. Yang mentah lagi.....imagine , dead meat & bangkai ikan mati in our fridge. Huhuhu! pretty spooky huh! Burgers , sausages.........benda mentah lagi. Ni kuah lemak , benda dah masak......apa nak heran!? Tak kira laa berapa lama pun......ikan beku dari oversea tu berbulan-bulan baru sampai sini.....sikda hal pulak.......ni baru dibekukan berminggu-minggu.........elehhh.....tak mati lah kalau makan.....hehehe! Tapi MP memang pe'el dia *kalau dia tahu benda tu lauk semalam & dipanaskan balik* memang dia tak makan. Melainkan lauk-lauk yang dimasak malam raya , tu ada exceptional sikit laa.....Siapa larat nak masak rendang & etc at one shot pagi-pagi raya.....mintak maaf. Tak larat.


After reheating the lemak ayam & dah mendidih........the twist , I letak segenggam daun kesum & some cili padi to the gravy. Add salt to taste coz masa process mula nak panaskan lemak beku ni , I letak air sikit in the pot. MP tak nak makan tak pe........biar I makan :-)



Next I nak kacau goreng some pea sprouts......


Some canola & sun flower oil , garlic & batang daun bawang.......Then in goes slices of fishballs....


Bila fishball dah masak , in goes my favourite XO sauce *it has bits of ikan bilis in it* together with the pea sprouts.....


Within 2-3 minutes.......that's it.



Menu classic.......Ikan Masak Merah........hahaha! Dah nak hujug bulan , semua yang dalam tin HARUS dikeluarkan.....hehehe! My simple version , took me under 7 minutes of cooking time.....of course with the help of pre-preparations. Tiada adegan hiris-menghiris bawang & basuh-membasuh daun bawang........semua ni dah standby dalam fridge , pre-washed & ready to cook. In the wok , I tumiskan bawang merah & garlic........


In goes the sardines & add water , coz MP tak reti makan nasi kalau tak de kuah......Hmmmmmphhhh........Then , I picit-picitkan cherry tomatoes into the sardine......


At this point add salt to taste. For some heat & sweetness , I guna chili sauce coz I tak tumis pakai chili paste & tak guna gula. So chili sauce quite covers the 2. Last but not least , guntingkan spring onions onto the sardines......Sardine dalam tin ni dah masak.....boleh terus makan dari tin pun , so no need to masak lama-lama.....kang lenyor ikan tu.


Wokey.....dah siap.




These are the 2 types of chopped garlic yang I guna. The one on the left is fresh chopped garlic and the one on the right has a mixture of soy oil in it......


Ni yang I selalu buat laa.....I'll keep extras of root herbs & spices in one container in the fridge. Like the spring onions......I cuma nak guna bahagian daun dia je for my sardine dish so I keep the root part for stir frying my vegetables as a substitute to the usage of shallots......



Malam tiba......tak nak makan nasi , teringin nak makan satay. Baik pulak mood MP malam ni.....hehehe! Tak pulak dia mengarok bila I suruh dia pergi beli satay. Eh! Ada.....dia ada mengarok sikit.....sikit je.......dia mengarok bila I suruh dia beli satay ayam 30 cucuk......hehehe! Kita kata siapa yang nak makan? Hello! Bukan untuk I sorang OK........Si Yna memang kaki satay ayam. I tahu mesti dia nak tapau bawak pergi sekolah the next day punya......MP dengar annnnn-nak dia yang nak makan , diam laa......

  1. akak nak tahu, my hubby read your blog too..terkezut gue..dia kata memang tak sangka kak rima tu pandai masak eh?and suddenly, one question had popped out from his mouth.."ermmm bila you nak pandai masak macam dia yang??"Aduh..menusuk jiwa..tapi i'll try my level best to be as good as you.huhu..amin...

  3. Part MP takm mkn lauk semlm tu sama la ngan my hubby. Kekadnag geram gak, sebb lauk maish byk tp dia buat hal takmo makan plak. Pea sprout tu tak pernah cuba la, pernah nampak tp tak pernah terpikir nak try. boleh la try nanti ni.
